A mother's plea for help to give her daughter a better chance at life.

My name is Rohey Sonko, and I am a single mother seeking help for my beloved daughter, Halima Janneh.

As a mother, one of the hardest things in life is watching your child struggle with a serious health condition and feeling helpless because you cannot afford the medical care they need. This is the situation I am facing with my little girl, Halima, who is living with a serious brain condition and epilepsy.

Halima needs specialist medical assessment in Türkiye. I am doing everything I can to find a way to get her the care she needs, with the hope that the right medical support will improve her ability to eat, walk and talk. However, as a single mother with limited financial resources, the cost of seeking specialist care abroad is more than I can manage on my own.

Why We Need Your Help

A hospital in Türkiye has provided a quotation of US$5,300 for an epilepsy diagnostic package. This is a major financial burden for me, and I am also worried about the additional expenses involved in travelling to Türkiye and arranging the necessary stay.

Depending on the doctors' findings after examination and MRI, additional genetic investigations may also be recommended, which would involve further costs.

My greatest wish is to give Halima the opportunity to receive the specialist care she needs. I want to do everything within my means to help her, but I cannot face this challenge alone.
